Learning Program
The visionary for Little Hands Cookie Co. is a former educator in the Baltimore County School System. Understanding the importance of the hands-on learning experience, a lifelong love of baking, and the need to create a relationship incorporating school, community, and family has birthed the Sweet Hour Bakery Tours and Activities Program.
When children are allowed to “do” then they can better learn whatever concept one is attempting to teach. Hence, our 1 ½ hour long learning experience allows the students to use a variety of basic and advanced math, reading, social studies, and science skills coupled with both individualized and cooperative learning techniques to achieve a desired outcome. At Little Hands Cookie Co. each child is given the opportunity to integrate the concepts that teachers so faithfully teach in the classroom in a real life community business setting with a specific, fun and measurable goal.
Each child's take home project is started by the student, but designed to be an enjoyable and memorable, interactive way to bridge the gap between school, community, and home. With both immediate and future outcomes that are constantly assessed, we believe this program will positively affect the lives of many children, schools, and families.
